Leave the purse & grab a clutch!

Ladies, leave your purses at home and grab a clutch instead! This is the perfect accessory for a night out on the town, or lunch with friends. Clutches are lightweight, chic, and can add a pop of color to any outfit.

Pink and Turquoise Part Two

I designed this Turquoise and pink bedroom using Polyvore. This is what my bedroom will be similar to once my makeover is complete!

Pink and Turquoise.

I have been battling with trying to find the perfect colors combination for my bedroom. I am doing a complete bedroom makeover and want a Paris theme, without the cheese. Pink and turquoise have been on my mind lately, and I think they would be the perfect colors to add to an all white, romantic bedroom.

A trip to Annex Antiques

A while back, I was antique shopping with a close friend and we came across Annex Antiques, located in Denver. There were so many beautiful pieces in this store, but my favorite find was the re-claimed boxcar flooring, which they were selling for $12.50 a square foot. It was so great to find something that came with a story. If only those floors could talk! My mind was running wild with ideas. What a great way to recycle!

I had the day off and was curious if the boxcar flooring was still available, so I decided to make another visit to Annex Antiques.

Re-claimed boxcar flooring. $12.50 a sq. ft. Annex Antiques. Bogatz and Kirk Artifacts are the only company in the U.S. selling re-claimed boxcar flooring.

A closer look to the boxcar flooring. I love the distressed look!

The flooring was about 3 inches thick and completely solid. I would love to make end tables or a coffee table out of this someday!

Sunburst Mirror

I have been searching everywhere to find an affordable sunburst mirror. I have stumbled across a few that I liked, but they were always too big, or too pricey.  While I was strolling the aisles of T.J. Maxx, I found THE ONE! It did not have a price tag, so I immediately thought it would be somewhere around $60.00 to $80.00 dollars. I spoke with a sales associate and she told me she would sell it for $29.99! Of course, I couldn't turn down an offer so great. After all, when you find something you love at T.J. Maxx, it is best to buy it right then and there, because you will never see it again if you don't!

Stripes

A nautical theme has crashed the shores of runways and interior design. Stripes are everywhere this season from dresses, cardigans, skirts and handbags. For those of you who love stripes, this is your time to shine. They are also a major trend for interior decorating. Stripes are the perfect accent to any outfit or room!

Stripes are just as useful as neutrals, meaning that you can piece them with any color of your choice!

Happy EARTH Day!

  • Plant a tree
  • Clean up litter in your neighborhood
  • Plant flowers
  • Go on a hike
  • Start a vegetable garden
  • Make an all organic meal

To celebrate Earth day, I am going to plant my very own succulent terrarium. Living in an apartment makes it harder to plant a tree, or plant any flowers! (Although, I do have a balcony that could use some flower power.) A terrarium is a great solution to adding a little nature to your home! Here is a great how to video on succulent terrariums.

Ikea Bound!

My boyfriend and I had a bit of the rainy blues today, so we decided to cruise on over to IKEA. We have been in desperate need of a computer chair, but we don't have the budget to buy the  Kartell Louis Ghost Chair I have been drooling over. Instead, we compromised and came home with this chair...
