Open Shelves

       My dining room really isn't a room at all. In fact, it is in the same room as the sofa and the media center. I have never been against an open floor plan, but I would like to define the dining area a bit more. By adding open shelves, I will be able to display plates, glasses and silverware. The shelves would really set the mood for a dining area.

      I like the idea of using Ikea bookshelves to store all of your everyday dishes. This works very well for a casual setting. You could also display art or family heirlooms on top.
